8 months agoHey muddleglum - could you send me a screenshot of what's troubling you exactly and let me know where you stand on the reinstalling process?
We might need to send you an email to have a further look internally at this point, so any visual aids or additional information are more than welcome!

I think all the screenshots that I have sent have shown all that I have gone through. However, in a reply earlier today, I had also mentioned the poor functioning of many of, if not all of, Dropbox's dialogs. I CANNOT, copy the mess they make on my screen. The buttons as well as other controls are 1. duplicated and one must learn which one really is what it seems; and 2. NOT duplicated and one must learn which area to hover over before clicking. Pretty ugly and something I would dream up as a practical joke and never use.
Whatever. I'm now sure that I had messed up something early on because of the twisted programming. Again, I'll note that it doesn't seem easy to get a screenshot of the things!
I now realize that the account on my computer had been changed somehow in all the machinations I had gone though and I think if I could change my account back to what it was I would be fine. But I don't know what to get on THIS computer to send to my other computer and where to plug it in on that.
Meanwhile, I'm not going to risk losing more by updating this computer.
