The app doesn't show my profile picture, and I can't choose any preferences for syncing.

no matter how many times I have re downloaded dropbox desk top app, my profile picture does not show up and I cannot choose any preferences for syncing or anything else from the desktop

Hi vacmmc,

 

Can you please try the following steps: 

 

  • Uninstall Dropbox app
  • Reinstall Dropbox app
  • After reinstall right click dropbox icon in the system tray
  • Check if you can access preferences
  • In preferences go to Accounts
  • Do you see the picture here?

Hello,

Thank you for this information... I just learned the system tray is different from the task bar.
I will now follow these steps and get back to you.
My question is, if I want to make changes I always click on the system tray icon and not the desktop app icon?

    It depends on what changes you're referring to vacmmc.

     

    Do you wish to change a file, and edit it, or change a setting for your Dropbox desktop app?
