    Lo and behold - I finally have a Dropbox icon/menu on my System tray - but only after I removed-rebooted-reinstalled-rebooted for every element  in the process. Finally.... but for how long? (Fingers crossed)

Yes, the computer is booted up every  day.

I just now installed ver. 2025.05.20 from Dropbox (previous install was 2024.04.17). File-sharing function works but still no icon/menu in the system/Indicator tray.

Incidentally, my ASUS laptop has the same version of LinuxMint (22 Wilma) with Dropbox  ver. 2024.04.17 (which I uninstalled from the Desktop computer before installing 2025.05.20) and has the icon/menu working in the System /Indicator tray.

I see, thanks jeff_15! What I can suggest next is to perform an advanced reinstall instead with these steps.
