What will other users do without Dropbox Passwords?
I've been using the Dropbox Passwords on my computer and phone and not sure what I'm going to do without it! What are other Dropbox users going to do now? I'd welcome any suggestions.
Thanks for your helpful replies, I've decided to use 1Password but I'm upset that I now have to pay for something that I was already paying for and worked very well

Hi there, somersetbp, welcome to our Community!
Since Dropbox Passwords will be discontinued on October 28th 2025, what we recommend on our side is for you to transfer your passwords to another trusted and secure password manager application such as 1Password.
You can see the steps on how to migrate your passwords to 1Password or another password manager and other relevant info here.
Of course, I'll also leave the thread open, in case other users would like to share their thoughts.
I hope this helps and if you have any questions, just give us a shout.

If I'm honest I tried it, and hated it, so went to 1Password ages and ages ago - way before this offer.
That system is how Dropbox Password should have been - the autofill, password suggestions, watch tower etc. are just amazing. The best bit is, like all Apple stuff (I know it isnt made by Apple, however, analogy works here) it just works. It does what it says on the tin and does it well.
The offer of 1 year half price is also superb (I dont get that!) so seriously consider it.

Same here. I've used 1Password for years. Tried Dropbox Passwords and it was far from feature complete. Missing so much compared to other systems. Never touched it again.

Hi somersetbp,
Thanks for posting to the Community Forum.
I just wanted to share a recent post where some users are discussing how to export their passwords over to Apple Keychain.
I posted some clarifying steps to do so as well.

Hello,
I've been trying to get a basic question answered through DB support:Is Dropbox Password an app that is different from my individual account password? The information I'm getting from DB isn't clear. If Passwords is indeed an app (which I don't use), will my account password be affected by this change?
I emailed support, but got a personal email back saying they couldn't help me because of my account type (non-paid). In the time it took to send me that response, the person could have simply answered my question. Unbelievable.
Thanks for any clarity anyone may have. - Hannah5 months ago

Hi Susan S, thanks for your comment here.
First, I wanted to say that we appreciate your feedback and we'll make sure to log it accordingly.
Regarding Dropbox Passwords, I wanted to provide some clarifications and if you have any more questions, feel free to get back to me!
So, Dropbox Passwords is a standalone feature (a mobile app and a browser extension) which you can use to store passwords from other services, apps, credit cards, etc.
It does not affect how you manage your Dropbox login or password; you'll still be able to log in to your account and reset your password as normal.
I hope this helps!

As it will be another cost and Dropbox is already expensive in itself I'm searching for other solution for my files and passwords. Proton Unlimited (with Pass, Mail, Drive, VPN) seems a good offer with a lot of built in privacy and security.
