Can I back up my website to Dropbox and make sure the old backup is overwritten?

I'm on the free plan to back up my website. I only need to retain the new backup and have the old one deleted each time a new one is added. Can I do that?

In terms of how the backup tool works that's something you will need to speak to the developer of the app for I'm afraid. Dropbox has no control over that.

Hey there gyanarthi - thanks for using Dropbox and welcome to our Community!

Can you walk us through the exact steps you'll be doing this so that we can advise further?

If this is going to be a single file, for example, you can upload new versions of it and delete the old ones as you go.

In any case, please let us know more information and we'll take it from there.

Hi walter...my site is backed up daily to another site... and to dropbox at the same time. I suppose I could just stop the automatic backup and do it manually to dropox. i dont want to add another plugin. Is there another way to do it ?

Hi gyanarthi, hope you don’t mind if I chime in. To back up your website to Dropbox, are you using a specific third-party app/plugin? You don't upload your backups to Dropbox manually each time, correct?
