Hello there! Starting yesterday all of a sudden I can't save files to my Dropbox via the Office 365-app anymore. I get a message telling me that the file is write protected, which it isn't. It tel...

How do I send a screenshot? Anyway, I'm not interested under any circumstances in using Dropbox to create documents. Maybe temporarily as a workaround, but only that. Also please see the thread. This only happens with word docs I create and save to drop box, not docs I create and save to my phone docs or to one drive

3 years agoHi dluptonmd , you should be able to attach your screenshot back to me, by using the camera-like icon and attaching it to your next response.
If I were you, I'd try to uninstall both Word, and Dropbox and then re-install them. Can you give this one a go, and let me know if you get the same results?
- dluptonmd3 years agoCollaborator | Level 9I've uninstalled and reinstalled per thread. I still don't see a camera icon. Exactly where is it?
- dluptonmd3 years agoCollaborator | Level 9The issue is the word-dropbox interface. I know I can create a text doc in Dropbox using Dropbox. Let's forget the screenshot. It's irrelevant to my issue. I am only going to use word to create docs for Dropbox. Thx.

Several of us have tried uninstalling and reinstalling both the MS apps and Dropbox app.
No luck!

Exactly.....it's the Word - Dropbox interface. And to be more precise, the MS Apps - Dropbox interface. Same problem with Excel files.
I posted a longer note above in which you CAN create files THROUGH the Dropbox app using the "+" and choosing the MS app. THOSE files can be saved back to Dropbox and reopened. But if you try to change the name of the file (Save As) or create a new file in the MS app, THOSE files cannot be saved back through the Dropbox app to Dropbox. They show up on the MS app "Recent Files" list and ironically can be opened there (save God only know where but probably on the Android device) and further edited. They just can't be saved to Dropbox.
