Integration Affected Excel Device (Dell 2 in 1 16 inch laptop model DB06250 Operating System/Browser (if using the web) Windows 11, Home and Chrome Dropbox App Version (if using the app) V 242.4.5815 Question or Issue Hello, I cannot open embedded word documents in Excel spreadsheet, in Dropbox on my Samsung S24 Mobile phone. The spreadsheet is fully workable on my mobile, excepting when I press the cell containing the embedded (not linked) word document., it only identifies the cell (eg B2) rather than open the embedded fileit says "This version of Excel doesn't support interacting with embedded files" When I open the offline folder it works perfectly on my laptop Also, sometimes when I open the file on my mobile, it comes up with "open with" and when I press that, it goes straight into the spreadsheet. The screen shot shows an unfilled circle, whereas the others are all filled? I cannot find in Dropbox application, where I can upload a newer version of Excel? Hope you can help, please Kind regards Doug20Views0likes1CommentError when automatically backing up files to Dropbox through third party app on Android
Hello, Iâm experiencing an issue that appears to be a recent change in Dropbox behavior. I use a third-party application on my Android phone that backs up data to Dropbox. The app automatically connects using Dropbox integration, selects the Apps folder, and creates its own subfolder inside it where backups are stored. This setup has been working reliably for years. Recently, I started getting the error: "Exception in 2/sharing/ validate_folder_path: (".tag":"bad_pat h","bad_path":"contains_app_folder")" I have already tried: Disconnecting and reconnecting Dropbox Letting the app create a new folder inside Apps Recreating the Apps folder None of these steps resolved the issue. Nothing has changed in my setup or workflow, and this started happening suddenly. Could you please confirm whether there has been a recent change related to sharing or access validation for folders inside the Apps folder, and whether this behavior is intended? Thank you for your help.112Views0likes4CommentsI see a "Sorry, xxxxxx.docx is stored in an unsupported server location" error for Word files.

Hello--I have a chronic problem with my file folders: frequently get 'Can't save here choose another location'. I use my employer's MS Office 365 account, and sync Dropbox to Windows Explorer, and use Explorer for my file management. The 'Can't save' message seems to appear when I am using many subfolders...if I go back one folder I can save the file. The problem is, this doesn't work with my folder organizing system. Is there a limit to how many subfoldes can be used? If so, can I release that limit? Or is the problem something else? Thanks you!5.4KViews0likes1CommentError that the file couldn't be opened when accessing Google sheets document online.
Hi, I'm encountering a problem while using Google sheets that's integrated with Dropbox. It used to be fine, but when I tried to open it today, the page refused to load and the message that I got is "File could not open. Try refreshing the page". I already tried to refresh the page several times, but it wouldn't work. I even tried to copy the file and open the copy -- but again, to no avail. This happened to my several other Google sheets documents as well. What do you think is happening and what should I do now? I'm afraid that it will affect my other Google documents since I'm using the Google-Dropbox integration quite often. I'd appreciate any help, thanks!Solved24KViews0likes46Comments- 1.2KViews0likes26Comments
I can no longer open my Microsoft files via my Android mobile app. They throw all sorts of errors.
Please help, I am in a HUGE panic. As of this morning, my Android Microsoft mobile apps no longer open my more than 1000 Dropbox files. I cannot save a newly created Microsoft file to Dropbox either. I have always been able to open and save my Dropbox files in the Android Microsoft apps (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel , etc) on my Pixel 8. I can no longer open files. Here's the message I get when I try to open a Dropbox file from within Microsoft Word: "Can't open file. [file name] is stored in an unsupported server location." If I try to open a file from within Dropbox, I get an error message that reads, "Can't complete task. Something went wrong. Please try again." I was initially able to open files within M365 Copilot, but I just started receiving the same message and I can't view any of my files. When I tried to connect a different Dropbox account, I received a message that said, "Access blocked: dropbox's request does not comply with Google's policies." Please note that the apps are all updated. I also uninstalled and reinstalled the apps in addition to restarting my phone. Furthermore, my Pixel device is properly linked to my Dropbox account PLEASE HELP!!1.7KViews0likes27CommentsWalmart Photo Canada site says "not logged in" for synching with my Dropbox
Hello! I am so hoping someone can help me! I use the Walmart Photo Canada site and upload photos weekly for printing so I can do next day pick up at the location. For weeks now (6? 7?) it has not worked in allowing me to access my Dropbox at all. Keeps telling me I am not logged in. I spent an hour waiting to talk to a Walmart Photo person this morning who said at his end there is no problem. I use a desktop (not Apple) and an iPad and neither of them will work and my daughter-in-law is also having the same issue. We both print weekly. Any idea what's wrong? I appreciate any suggestions.
