Access Blocked: Dropbox's request does not comply with Google policies
So I have started using a new device Galaxy S24 Ultra. I transferred all my details over and opened the Dropbox App. When I choose an Excel file and tried to open it so I could edit it, it asked me to sign in to my microsoft account. I did this and then I got the error "Access Blocked: Dropbox's request does not comply with Google policies" it works fine on my old device still but not on my new device. What am I doing wrong?
I'm typing this on my phone and want to add a screenshot but can't find how to add an image.
- So the problem seems to have been when using Google sign in, I got it working when I just signed in using the old fashioned way of entering you email and then password.

Hi Redhotpaddy! Welcome back to the Community.
Can you walk me through the steps you’re taking to open your Excel files on the new device? Are you opening them via the Dropbox app or from the Microsoft Excel app directly?
As for your screenshot, it may not be possible to add it via a mobile device indeed. Can you try to upload it via your computer instead and let me know if you face any issues there?
Keep me in the loop for more info.

Hey Redhotpaddy, I've found this article on the Microsoft support page, can you take a look and let me know if it helps at all?
Have you tried reinstalling both apps and/or clearing their cache?

Hi Megan,
Yes I have uninstalled both apps and cleared the cache and got the same error.

Hey Redhotpaddy, are you having an issue with any file, or is this issue only occurring for Excel files?
Also, do you use the same email address for both Dropbox and Google/Microsoft?
- Redhotpaddy2 years agoHelpful | Level 6Hi so it seems it's with all microsoft files I.e. word and excel. Yes I I have the same email for both.

Thanks for the clarification there, Patrick.
Could you maybe try the walk-around that's outlined here and let us know if it helps?
