Cookie preferences icon blocking functionality in Excel for the web spreadsheets
A cookie preferences icon recently appeared in the bottom left hand corner of excel for web sheets when accessed through dropbox. despite choosing and saving cookie preferences the cookie doesnt go away, and blocks the ability to toggle left through excel sheet tabs .
Is there a way to remove this cookie icon?
Hannah
I was able to resolve and remove the cookie by changing browser setting in Chrome privacy and security > third party cookies > & switching on send do not track request.

Hi ducsue,
Thank you for letting us know. I'll raise this internally to see if I can glean any more information.
In the meantime, I'd suggest using keyboard shortcuts to toggle left and right between the tabs:
- Next Tab (Right): Alt + Down Arrow
- Previous Tab (Left): Alt + Up Arrow
- Note: On a Mac, you can use Option (possibly the Right Option key) instead of Alt for the same function.
Just a suggestion while we look into this.

Playing around with the toggling the do not track request toggle doesn't do anything to remove the icon. Whether it is toggled on or off, the icon will appear when the page is open again. Refreshing it will remove the icon only to reappear again the next time you open the file.
My excel file is password protected, having to re input the password on every refresh is quite annoying. - Nancy3 months ago

Thanks for updating us, ducsue! If you follow the same steps again via your Chrome browser’s settings, is the “Do not track” setting disabled again?

Well, I said that the steps to remove the icon works. However, when I revisit the page again, the icon reappears. Refreshing the page removes it only to reappear again on next session.

Yes, that works removing the icon.

Thanks for the update here, ducsue.
Have you tried the steps that resolved this for the OP above, to see if they help in your case as well?

It happened a few days ago and is appearing in Chrome (only use windows chrome) both regular and incognito mode. Cookies appears in online Word & Excel app.

Thanks for your post, ducsue!
Is this something you see across different web browsers (even in incognito mode)?
What options do you see, if you click on the cookies icon?
Finally, if you happen to have a Microsoft Word file saved on your Dropbox account, can you please open it and let me know if you see the cookies button placed in the same position?
Let me know what you find.
