Dropbox unstable in iPad OS Files App.
The problem I have is that Dropbox seems to crash when running on an iPAD via the apple files app. If I open an application that uses the files app, such as Pages or Final Draft, when saving to the D...

We recently upgraded the syncing experience between the Files and Dropbox and it should be more reliable now. Ensure that your Dropbox app is upgraded to receive the full benefits of this experience!

They are never going to actually look into this or fix it. I will keep testing other cloud services to see which ones work better.

iCloud works great of course. I've also had good success with Google Drive and Box. Dropbox seems to be the outlier here.

My ticket was somehow closed. I opened a new one and got a reply from Jake saying it was Apple's problem and not Dropbox. I guess Megan is no longer working on this issue for us.
- epeytons4 years agoNew member | Level 2Having the same issue: working in Dropbox folders via the Files iOS app (or via share sheet-> save to files) frequently causes files to hang. None of the troubleshooting steps have worked for me yet.

Same problem here, It's been 1 Year now, no update either from Dropbox or Apple could fix the problem,

I’m disappointed that the iPadOS 16 beta hasn’t resolved the issue, given that Dropbox has decided to blame Apple for it. I’m tired of dealing with the Accessibility settings workaround and will be transferring to another cloud storage provider if this still isn’t fixed in iPadOS 16. Whether or not it’s Apple’s bug, users are caught in the middle.
- Andrew554 years agoHelpful | Level 5Go to Settings -> Accessibility -> Keyboards -> Full Keyboard Access and turn on Full Keyboard Access. You’ll see some annoying behavior, but at least Dropbox won’t crash anymore!
- ae6dx004 years agoExplorer | Level 4I had it that way already. Files app still freezes accessing Dropbox
- Andrew554 years agoHelpful | Level 5Interestingly, the problem vanished on my iPad Pro, so Apple or Dropbox did something, but perhaps they only fixed the problem for some people.

- JD274 years agoNew member | Level 2me : dropbox doesn't work on ipad file apps!
??? : Use icloud
me : but...!
??? : icloud
me : wha...!!
??? : iCLOUD - Andrew554 years agoHelpful | Level 5I spoke too soon. Files froze again. If Microsoft and Box can make their stuff work in Files, then surely Dropbox can if they want to. I guess I’m switching to one of them (or iCloud), for which iOS/iPadOS support is a higher priority.

I've been having this issue for well over 2 years...I use the Dropbox app in lieu of the Files integration as much as possible, but any time you need access from any other app then usually the Files integration is the only way to do so. It's extremely frustrating and time consuming to deal with, but I don't have the time to migrate to a different service than Dropbox for now.
It seems to be stuck in a never-ending finger-pointing game between Dropbox and Apple. Naturally, Apple says the issue is with Dropbox and I should use iCloud instead. Frankly, I agree that if Google Drive, Box, OneDrive etc can all work smoothly with the Files integration (I've tested with Google Drive and OneDrive and have yet to have the same locking up issue even once) then it's clearly a Dropbox issue.

In case anyone from Dropbox is listening, you lost a customer over this issue. I cancelled my subscription — migrating to OneDrive.
