52 TopicsSynology Cloud Sync is only uploading small files
I have a Synology NAS (DS418Play). I want to use Cloud Sync to back up some folders. I'm running DSM 7.2.2, Cloud Sync 2.7.2 (Newest). I have 2 test folders, one encrypted, one clear. The folders contain 2 files. Small.txt (21 bytes) and Big.jpg (3.9 M/b). Small uploads, Big does not. Synology support checked my config (OK) and found these error in the log: Curl error: curl(28), http(0), proto(-210), msg(Operation too slow. Less than 1 bytes/sec transferred the last 300 seconds) HandleError: Connection timeout. What I have tried: Deleting all folders and tasks and recreating. Stopping/Starting the service. Deleting and reinstalling Cloud Sync and database. Changing the upload bandwidth on the desktop app. Checked firewall rules and looked for any throttling. From the desktop app I can sync Gigabyte files, so the problem seems to lie with the Dropbox API. I know I could set up folders on a PC and copy from the NAS to sync, but that is clumsy and Cloud Sync SHOULD work. Any suggestions gratefully received.89Views0likes5CommentsUnlimited cloud backup on Dropbox with a Synology NAS. Is this possible?
Hello all, Apologies for the repost if so but I need help understanding the functionality of the cloud tech and services. My goal is to have an unlimited cloud backup on Dropbox of my Synology NAS archive. Does Dropbox Back-Up support that? Details: I have a Synology NAS 4-bay. I use it for personal archives and some client collaboration (photo and video). I want to use Dropbox for client collaboration instead and reserve Synology for personal archive and backblaze as cloud back-up for the archive (which also includes client work). Mostly because the Synology is currently via wifi and is too slow for collaborating but okay for archive. While making a personal Dropbox account I saw Dropbox Back-up allows unlimited space for backing up. I thought this might be useful and perhaps an alternative to backblaze for the back-ups need (in addition to the personal account for collaboration needs) Then I saw this, "Files on your PC or Mac are continuously backed up to the cloud." Does Dropbox Back-Up support syncing all Synology NAS files with unlimited space or only the local computer and external drive? Is this how this works or am I thinking about this wrong? Edit: Synology has Hyper Backup where you can sync to Dropbox. Do I start there and work back to Dropbox Backup unlimited plan?Solved20KViews0likes5CommentsFiles/folders added from another device failed to appear in the Files app on my iPad
native files.app integration is still downright dangerous. When files/folders added to Dropbox from another device failed to appear on my iPad, I tried numerous remedies (none of which worked) culminatinig in reinstalling the Dropbox app and then clearing the cache under "Files.app settings". Clearing the cache resulted in the more recently added folders and their contents being deleted from my Dropbox, even though they were uploaded from a different device. The integration evidently concluded that, since they weren't on my iPad, they didn't belong in the cloud either.92Views0likes1CommentThe Files app in my iPad won't sync/update my files

I have a Android phone (ver. 9). I use a password vault that depends on its database file being synchronized between PC desktop and my cell phone. On a previous cell phone, this arrangement worked very well. Now with my new Pixel 7 pro phone, it is not working. I suspect it is because my cell phone version of DropBox is not syncing correctly. I would like the DB to automatically synch every time I open or close the cell phone. But I suspect it is not happening. I don't know how to determine if I am looking at the latest DB contents on my cell phone. I also do not know how to force a synch. Can anyone point me in the right direction? This Update without warning did a) block my PC for at least a day b) ended up corrupting my encrypted files which I no longer can read. Please advise how to restore my files. This is likely the same issue as here, Dropbox's latest update leads to no access to Boxcryptor files. Can't copy or open them. | The Dropbox Community but the solution described there is to rely on old undynched folders which I do not have. Also, the topic is closed and does not let me continue. Why can I not restore my backup on to my computer? I have to download individual folders and in some cases it will cry and complain and say it cannot download because a folder may have too many files. Is there no better way or am I stuck downloading folder by folder. I like the feature but if the restoration process is like this, then wow. Its tough. I hope someone has some insight on how to proceed.155Views0likes7CommentsI'm new to Dropbox, how do I sync data from one tablet to another?
Device Samsung tablets Operating System/Browser (if using the web) android Question or Issue Ive been introduced to Dropbox by an app I use called songbook pro. I use the app on two similar Samsung tablets. Both installations refer to the same account with the same name and password. I need to have an exact copy of the app data in both devices as a standby in case one device fails. I can copy the data from my 'master' tablet to dropbox but I'm not able to restore (the term used by the app) the data into my second device. I'm 82 so please treat me as a child of 10 when describing the solution. Thanks.98Views0likes1CommentMoving Google Drive Files to Dropbox (with a team account)
