Google docs import for "Untitled Documents"

I would like to move my docs from Google Drive and I have 100s that are "Untitled document".  Google doesn't require a unique name for the documents, which seems to create a problem when trying to import into dropbox.  I get a message that confirms the transfer of these documents, and when I check there is only 1 in the folder. How do I get these imported into dropbox?

Hi kimmj98, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

In order to import files into Dropbox, they would require unique names to avoid being overwritten by each other.

I can only recommend that you provide names to each of those documents on Google Drive and then perform the import via the Dropbox site.

If you have any further queries, feel free to message back.

There are hundreds of documents in this state there is no way I’m going to go back an rename all of them. Also, Dropbox is not providing a warning that this is even happening, so it’s really obvious to me because I have so m at files but it’s very likely that other people don’t even know it’s happening if they have a few of these files mixed in with their other files on import. Even windows can append (2), (3), etc when copying with the same name. Dropbox needs and enhancement request to allow this and at a minimum accurate feedback to the user that there are files with the same name and they won’t be overwritten (even if you don’t select the overwrite option on import). If the source platform doesn’t have a problem with the naming there’s obviously something underneath that’s happening, maybe the API allows another method differentiating files.
