Why can't I restore my Dropbox Backup?

Why can I not restore my backup on to my computer? I have to download individual folders and in some cases it will cry and complain and say it cannot download because a folder may have too many files...

Jay​ Well I tried that and unfortunately I did not get that option for restoring from backup.

Hey kal_varrik, apologies for the delay here.

Was this a backup of an external drive or an internal one (Desktop, Downloads, Documents folders)?

     Hannah​, the backup was of my internal hard drive, just over half a tb of backed up items. I tried to download from the website but that is become untenable because I have project files whilst not big in terms of size they have many many files inside sub folders so it is not realistic to try individually download those folders and even when I try I run into the "too many zipped folders error".
