Many thanks for your prompt & most helpful reply Megan; it is much appreciated. I infer I ought to be a member of a Dropbox team but that I am not being treated as such. (I am shown as having a basic account on the subscriptions page.) I have only ever used my company email address to log in to Dropbox, & only to access company documents, so I cannot see how I can have two accounts. As to your last question, it was a sufficiently long ago for me not to have any recollection. I can only say I was authorised by the account administrator to access the company's account. Do you happen to know how I could at this stage switch to being a member of a Dropbox team? Thanks, Jeremy

Your Team admin needs to send you an invite to the team and pay the appropriate licence fee for it.

Thanks for your reply Mark. Looking further into my account I can see I am a team member. I can only assume by being a team member DropBox automatically gives one a basic account. What is puzzling is that as I have stored nothing in it the space is almost all used up. But that’s another matter. Thanks once again.

Is it possible that you're confusing being a member of a shared folder, to being a team member?
If you're seeing a Basic account then it means you're using an individual plan. You might want to contact the team's admin, or a member of the team and ask them to invite you to it using these steps.

Life certainly is complicated Megan: shared folder/team member/basic account. It’s enough to send one over the edge! Anyway, your continued most helpful assistance is very much appreciated; thank you indeed. My only questions now are: 1. What drives the space usage of my personal basic account if I am just exclusively using a shared folder? 2. When my basic account is full what impact will it have on my ability to use further the shared folder? Should you happen to have the answers to these questions I shall be most grateful (& impressed). If not, many thanks for getting me this far; I understand a great deal more now. Best regards, Jeremy

Are you sure you arent part of a Team folder? Thats a different thing to a Team Account - its basically as Megan said just a type of Shared folder.
If your account is basic you arent a Team member.
