If you never used the former account and it's been idle for more than a year, it was likely deleted due to inactivity. Have you tried to change the email address on your active account to that of your former account? It should work if the former account no longer exists.
If the former account does still exist, you'll need to sign in to that account and either delete the account or change the email address to something else. That would free up the original email to be used on another account.

3 years agoThanks. I still have my old company computed and I will see about transfering from it to the new computer manually. Even if that works, I will try your ideas too as a needed permanent fix.
