Google Workspace Primary Domain Change

Hi all,

Google Workspace Primary Domain Change.

We are going to be changing our Google Workspace primary domain from domaina.com to domainb.com.

Will this have any effect on those users who sign in with Google Sign in?   Or anything else in regards to Dropbox use?

Thanks,

Simon

Hey skol, thanks for your post today!

Do you mean that your users' email addresses will change?

If your users' Dropbox accounts are associated with email addresses that use the old domain, they'll probably have sign-in issues with Dropbox.

If they change their Dropbox addresses, though, to the new email address, with the new domain, they should be okay.

Let me know if you have any questions.

    Hi Hannah,

I'm not sure if your answer is related to Google Sign in, or just a standard sign in so I'll run through what a primary domain change is in Google Workspace.

This is a primary domain change:

This change can affect 3rd party apps where you sign in using the Google Sign in option.   Dropbox offers the Google Sign in option and so we need to know if it will break when we do the domain change and what steps might be required to continue our users to sign into dropbox.

    Thanks,

    Simon

    Hi,

My company is going through the same type of Google Primary Domain Change. So my entire team's dropbox login emails will change from name@domaina.com to name@domainb.com

Are there steps in place with Dropbox that allows for my team to successfully login to their Dropbox accounts after this kind of switch?

    Thank you
