How can I change the email on my account?

I have not logged in few months and we updated our email address.  When i tried logging in with new email it created a new account.  Now when i log in with my old email to change the email address it...

    Thanks for the details. You can swap emails by using a third, unused email address, and follow these steps to do so.

If you don't need the new account, just delete it. Once you delete the new account, the email address will be available for use on the old account.
