How to stop Dropbox Backup?
How do I stop DropBox from backing up my attached external backup hard drive. I don't want to have DropBox back up this device.
Hi Bruce Peck,
I had our Backup team take a look into this issue, and our internal tools show that your backup is disconnected. Is this accurate? We want to make sure that your issue is resolved! If you are still having this issue, you can reply to this message and we can take it from there.

Ben

Thanks for the reply, however under Manage Backup the box is greyed out and will not let me do anything. Seems like it is hung or locked up. I wonder if I should delete the desktop app and start all over again. Seems like there is s backup in progress that I cannot turn off. Any ideas?

Hi Bruce Peck, let's jump right into this!
What does your Backup page report? Is the Backup processing there, or can you disable it?
Keep me posted!

On the desktop app, under Synchs and Backup it says: 1.01GB of 16.07GB backed up, 6% complete, and the little progress bar is moving. It has said this for days, and seems to be stuck. When I go to Manage Backups, there is nothing that I can change. Everything is greyed out. I just want to use DropBox to store and move files between my devices occasionally. I don't want it to do any backups of the external backup hard drives I have attached to my iMac. I cannot find any way to stop and delete the backup function.

One more thing: it says paused on the Backup Page

Hi Bruce Peck, could you send me a couple of screenshots of your Backup page online, along with your Backups tab on the app?
Also, is it possible that the app's syncing status is paused, and that's why it's not progressing?

Hey Bruce Peck, thanks for the screenshots here.
Can you try to quit the Dropbox app and then relaunch it, to see if that helps at all?

I tried that and there was no change. Thank you for the suggestion!
