Why do I get space warning emails when I upgraded six months ago?

Question or Issue

I have used 30 GB of 3TB on my Professional account and continue to get "you are running out of space" emails which scare the **bleep** out of me each time I get them. How do you stop this? Are these emails not even tied to your database of current customers and their activity and usage space?

Hey robindouglaslewis! Hope it's alright, if I chime in.

If you’re getting those messages to another email address, then you most definitely have a second Dropbox account tied to it, which is running out of space.

You can double check this by opening a different browser on your computer and signing in to Dropbox with that email address instead (if you’re not sure about the password, you can reset it from the login page).

If that Dropbox account is going over-quota indeed, you can either delete some of your files there, or even move/share them with your paid Professional account.

Let me know, if that helps.

Hi there, robindouglaslewis, thanks for joining our Community.

Are you sure that these emails are going to the email address associated with your paid Dropbox account? Could it be possible that you have another one?

Are you also getting notifications about this when you log in to your account on dropbox.com?

    Keep me posted.

It does come to another email: [removed per Community Guidelines], which is active. Do I have another account? I reupped and may have done it on the gmail account? Please let me know. Thank you.

Thank you, yes, that is what is happening. It looks like I upgraded using gmail account and that is all fine and intact. So I deleted original, "un-upgraded" account and all is well. Thanks very much for all the help.

No problem at all! Glad that did the trick.

I'll be here, if you need something else.
