We've not received any reports of other users experiencing this behavior and we appreciate the feedback on this matter.
We take all comments into consideration when improving the Dropbox app and services.

To ensure my report reflects the true Win 11 default situation, I restarted in Safe Mode with no web access and permanently deleted the entire Search folder from Dropbox.
On restart I then reset Windows Search to re-index the entire system.
The error behaviour I report occurred when the indexes were freshly rebuilt.
I confirm Windows search behaves as I would expect: file names and/or contents
It's very likely the same in Win10 too.
