Free team disbanded by Dropbox
Hi Team,
Can someone please help with an email I received as below? Not sure what it all means
The ???? Limited team has been disbanded by Dropbox. Your team’s folders have been converted to shared folders, and all ??? Limited groups have been deleted. Your account has been converted to a personal Dropbox plan.
Reason I ask is that we had a colleague that left our company under bad terms.
Many thanks in advance.

Can you look into my account and help me find the lost teams folder? Trouble is, the two folders were always linked and so I never specifically "logged in" to the work folder and have no idea how anymore! I will be so upset if I lose all my documents..
You likely had a free team that was disbanded. Dropbox ended support for free teams and all existing teams were disbanded. Both of your accounts still exist. One will be linked to your computer, and you can sign in to the other one on the Dropbox website using the email address associated with that account.
The team folder you had would have been converted to a shared folder, with both accounts a member of it. Look at the members of that shared folder and you should be able to identify your other account.

I fear the account was linked to an email address that no longer exsists and the project it was established for is long over - so no other team members... I have NO idea how to log in to find it!

Without access to the email I'm afraid you will not be able to - as you need that to create a new password if needed, and at a minimum know what the username is.
Would anybody else still be a member of that Team who could re-share it to you at a new address?

Hi I just discovered that a team account i had linked to my personal folder has just disappeared. I had a host of very important files and folders for me and i wonder where has it gone and whether there is a possibility to recover those files. I have no idea how that might have happened.
thank you very much for your help

Was it a free team? If so, Dropbox started ending support for free teams back in January and all existing free teams were disbanded. Both of your accounts still exist. One would still be linked to your computer and the other is accessible via the Dropbox website. Just sign in with the email address and password for that account, and you'll be able to access it.

r Rich,
thank you so much for your immediate reply. I am on the webbased dropbox and i can't see where my account would be. I even checked in the deleted files but still nothing... Where should i look?

Hi again,
i will accept yours as solution. The teams account was not linked to my personal one. I had to sign in with a diferent email address which i had assigned to the teams folder.
Thank you again

Hello Everyone,
until recently I had a 2GB work dropbox account and a 2GB personal dropbox account.
A couple of days ago I realized my work dropbox account has been removed from all of my computers and I really like to find my work files.
Has anybody had similar problems?
Highly appreciate any help!
Thank you in advance,
Anita

Your accounts were likely part of a free team, which allowed you to have two accounts syncing to your computer. Dropbox ended support for free teams back in January and any existing teams have been disbanded. Both of your accounts still exist. One will still be linked to your computer, and you can sign in to the other on the Dropbox website using the email and password for that account.
The only way to connect a work and personal account now is if one of the accounts is a paid Business account.
