How do we limit who can create a login to Dropbox?
How do we limit who can create a login to Dropbox? I have to audit Dropbox for my users because they are allowed to create their own accounts without me giving permission. Is there a way to not allow them to add an account for a business account?
I'm afraid there's really no way to stop someone from creating an account in general, however, it sounds like you mean that people are adding themselves to the team.
To be added to a team, someone needs to be invited or request access, but either way, an admin has to approve.
Do you mean that they're requesting access and you have to delete them from the members tab in your admin console?

Hey Holly Roth, thanks for posting your question today!
Are you referring to just limiting the creation of Dropbox accounts?
Or specifically to limiting invitations to join a Dropbox Business team?
A team admin should be able to manage who can invite people to the team and how people can join the team.
You can read more about this here.
Let me know if that's not what you're looking for or if you have any questions.

I was referring to how do we not allow users to just create their own accounts without an admin okaying it? I have to audit these accounts because every month users just give themselves an account without knowing if we have any licenses. I have to then go in and have them deleted.

I just found out that anyone with an extension in their email after the @ that is consistent with our business can get in without approval. I've told the business that, this cannot happen. Just because you work here doesn't mean that you are an automatic approval.
Thank you for your response.
