How is the trusted device recognized?
If I trust a device via webbrowser, so that there is no 2fa necessary in future, how is that trusted device recognized?
Is anyone with my IP adress a trusted person?
Should I trust devices (forever), I am currently using via VPN?
Thanks!

Hey boloneca, thanks for using Dropbox and welcome to the Community!
Is there a particular way that you're using a VPN? Also, are you using any browser extensions or plugins as well?
I'm only asking since most VPNs change IPs regularly so Dropbox would detect this as a different device or browser trying to access your Dropbox account and would send you a message about it if you had ended your previous web session.
Does this happen with a particular web browser by the way?
Let us know more and we'll take it from there.
- boloneca3 years agoNew member | Level 2I want to make sure, that, if I trust my device, I really trust my device and not my IP, because my IP (via VPN) is used by many other persons. I just want to know, if every other device, which is using the same IP-adress as me, is a trusted device.

Hi boloneca, could you clarify what you mean by trusting a device?
Was this a prompt via the Dropbox desktop application, mobile app or website?
