I suddenly got a file added in my Dropbox
The file "mzaf_4709424082541843586.plus.aac.ep.m4a.crdownload" suddently popped up in my Dropbox
Is it safe ?
What is it ?
Hi Henning-And, the extension crdownload is generally a temporary file created by Chrome when you're downloading any file from the internet (not just from Dropbox).
Since it was in your folder, it means you were downloading a file into the Dropbox folder directly.
Desktop-Geksnis is the name of a device connected to your account. If this isn't the name of your machine, have you signed into the Dropbox desktop app on any other computers? You can see your connected devices from here.

Hey Henning-And, thanks for posting on our forum today!
Was this file shared with you by someone else perhaps?
Have you received any relevant emails by Dropbox stating that another user would like you to access this file?
Let me know what you find.

Hello
No, the file wasn't shared by someone and I did not get any info from Dropbox.
But how can it go to my Dropbox and what is "Desktop-Geksnis" ?
I thought that it could be a Dropbox ini-file or something like that.
But can I delete it now ?

Hi Jay
Thank you for your very usefull answer.
I have now made the security check and disconnected some computer I might have used.
Nice to know it's a Google download temp-file.
I have deleted it myself.
You made my day - thank you !
