I was invited to join a team, but I want to get my individual account back.
I had a personal subscription plan with 2 TB earlier, and one of my clients has added me to their Company DB account recently.
This is my 2nd time that the Admin of that company has deleted my acco...

Hey Rich Team admin has added me to their DB team yesterday. However, now I have a brand new account, and all of my previous files are gone.
How can I get my old files back?

If your files were transferred upon your initial removal, you can have the team admin, or the person the files were transferred to, share them back with you.
That said, since we don't have any account-specific visibility, it might be best to get in touch with our support team directly.
Once you do, feel free to send me the ticket number reference, in order for me to locate it on my end.
Keep me posted!

Hey Megan !
Thank you for all your support. The admin has recovered my old account, and the files are now on the DB team. To avoid such kind of issues, anything I can do in the future?- Mark7 months ago

Make sure you read the prompts and messages when clicking on links - the process when joining a Team explains it clearly what happens when ou join and almost tries to force you to do a new account.
If they still want you on the Team set up a second email and THEN join using that email.
After you do that you can link the two accounts together so you can view on one device: https://help.dropbox.com/account-access/link-unlink-two-accounts

And if you absolutely must join the team with your existing account, when it's time to leave make sure the admin knows that they need to convert your account back to an individual account, and not just remove you from the team.

Hi, Rich I have asked the admin to convert my account back to an individual account and remove me from the team. And he did as I said. also sent this article.

However, after being removed from the group, I now again have a brand new account with 2GB, and none of my files are there.
How can I get my files back, and any advice we need to follow, please?
