Is the email: em-s.dropbox.com legitimate? [Answer: Yes]
I have received an e-mail telling me of a new document available for me in Dropbox. The e-mail is from an address that ends with " em-s.dropbox.com ". Can anybody confirm that " em-s. " is a valid adjunct to " dropbox.com ", or is it sooner a trick?
Thank you.
Hi Everybody,
I can confirm that these emails were sent from the Dropbox domain and are not harmful. This is one of the official domains Dropbox uses to send out emails. You can find the full list of domains here: https://help.dropbox.com/security/official-domains.
You can safely ignore them, though there was no negative impact to your account if you did click through the emails. You should not receive anymore emails of this type.
Regards,
Ben

I received the same email message:
"Hi David,
Just a heads-up ā you've got a shared file waiting for you. Click the button below to check it out whenever you're ready!"
The subject is: "Files shared with you"
The unsubscribe link below also looks dicey.
Please advise.
- Phuppets3 years agoNew member | Level 2Hi everyone,
Nice to join the community š
I received an e-mail inviting me to open a shared file but when I log in into my account there is no new file !
The (supposedly) dropbox e-mail address being this one :
no-reply@em-s.dropbox.com
I didnāt click on it at first and when to log in directly on the Dropbox page in my browser : there I found not race of a recent shared file (only a bunch of old ones).
I finally tried to click on the link in the email and I arrived directly in my dropbox-already-logged-in user page⦠so it seems it wasnāt a hoax after all but a disfunctional mail from dropbox ?
Please let me know what you think !!
Many thanxxxx

Dropbox, Inc., PO Box 77767, San Francisco, CA 94107, Ćtats-Unis - Dirty_dancin1963 years agoNew member | Level 2I received the same email about 8 hours ago. Itās spam. Thereās an option at the bottom to unsubscribe. I clicked on that and it took me to a link on the official site āto stop getting emails about how to get the most from your Dropbox account click unsubscribeā. So thatās exactly what Iāve done.

I had the same in the early hours of this morning. I have forwarded it to abuse@dropbox.com to look into. It seems strange that it doesn't say who it is from either! I will let you know if I hear anything back.

I've just received the email shown below - see screenshot.
Haven't clicked the link but checked my Dropbox account.
No new files have been added to my Dropbox account for some time.
Looks like a scam but seems to originate from an official Dropbox domain.
- theloaf3 years agoNew member | Level 2I got it too

Received exactly the same. The sending email address seemed legit, but no new files in my DropBox.
Took the opportunity to clear out some files and changed my password as a precaution.
- rockzilla25203 years agoHelpful | Level 5I did. Funny thing is, it was a file from someone I no longer communicate with and I had previously deleted the file.
