Thank you for being a valued Dropbox Capture user. After careful consideration, we’ve decided to discontinue Dropbox Capture on March 24th. Please note that you’ll still be able to use the screenshot tool through the Dropbox desktop app.
After March 24th, you will no longer be able to create new screen recordings, audio clips, GIFs, or videos using Capture. The Capture desktop app—and Capture via web access—will no longer be available.
Good news: We’re continuing to add new screenshot functionality within the Desktop app. On March 24th, you will be able to use the screenshot tool to capture the exact part of the screen you want to send. You will be able to add extra emphasis to your screenshots with text, shapes, drawings, and arrows.
We understand that your content is important, so know that you will not be losing any of your existing Capture images and videos. To learn more about this change, please read this article.

Apart from the alternative offered by Dropbox (which I don't think is a satisfactory solution), what other alternatives can we users have to replace Capture?
I'm on macOS and have tested it for the time being:
● Awesome screenshot :
👎 The software is really convincing, but the subscription fee is absolutely ridiculous.● Flameshot :
🤔 Open source, but no video capture. That said, for video I can simply use the macOS system.I'll keep looking....

Respectfully, the "good news" followed by a list of banal and redudant features is giving Lumen supervisor on a "severed" floor. Capture added unmistakable value to my Dropbox subscription. Value that strengthened my resolve to stick with Dropbox when virtually everyone is doing cloud storage. Kindly, reconsider ditching this powerhouse tool for business. Thanks!

Capture was the one feature of Dropbox I enjoyed using for its ease, functionality, and features. We used it daily to create clips and images that actually made our work better. Whatever it means to focus on your "core products," dropping a useful tool that actually works is shortsighted. You'll probably just continue to complicate Dropbox to the point that we drop it altogether. We already have issues with the complexity of a product that seems over designed and increasingly impenetrable. Stop adding more AI telling me what to do.

Great comment -- yes, the value of the Capture service is so significant for my use I would also be willing to pay more for the service

This is very sad and hope dropbox will reconsider.

This is really disappointing, Capture was one of the tools that we used the most on our company, and one things that made us use Dropbox from the beginning, we will search for other storage provider.
