Thank you for being a valued Dropbox Capture user. After careful consideration, we’ve decided to discontinue Dropbox Capture on March 24th. Please note that you’ll still be able to use the screenshot tool through the Dropbox desktop app.
After March 24th, you will no longer be able to create new screen recordings, audio clips, GIFs, or videos using Capture. The Capture desktop app—and Capture via web access—will no longer be available.
Good news: We’re continuing to add new screenshot functionality within the Desktop app. On March 24th, you will be able to use the screenshot tool to capture the exact part of the screen you want to send. You will be able to add extra emphasis to your screenshots with text, shapes, drawings, and arrows.
We understand that your content is important, so know that you will not be losing any of your existing Capture images and videos. To learn more about this change, please read this article.

Same here! Unsure if I need dropbox at this point. Probably better off moving things to Google Suite since I'm paying for that to get cloud storage and integrated AI features . Might have to follow suite in purchase Loom for video recording to make demos for client work/walkthroughs.

Loosing Capture is a huge disappointment ! It was my go-to method of sharing deliverables with clients through a quick video recording (or screenshots), and it was one of the last few features that was keeping my on a subscription plan. I now might have to look at moving everything away from Dropbox. (been an active user since 2013)

I agree. This decision actually devalues my Dropbox subscription, and this news is frustrating, to say the least.

Capture was one of the most valuable tools I've ever had stolen. As a genealogist, I take screenshots of records and images daily.
This sucks, and I'm so put off that I'm looking for another backup tool that has screen capture.
I tried ShareX, and while I like it, I'm having some issues with file naming (the date format doesn't work).
BRING BACK DB CAPTURE!!

They have never ever changed minds about sunsetting a product before that I am aware of.
I'd bet my house on it disappearing - especially as its already started being (badly) integrated into the desktop client.

What a loss—one of the most convenient screen-capturing tools out there. Is there any chance the Dropbox team might reconsider this decision?

Thanks Rip_Surf. Just bought that especially as it was on offer with 50% off. Seems pretty good!

For me its not so much the video recording I'm after its more around markup of screenshots. THATS the bit I'm struggling to find something for.

I've tried Capto.
Nice all in one app, maybe too much stuff, cheap.

Nice pick!
You have to create a ZApier account but the app is quite cool I agree!
