3 years ago🎉 New feature alert for premium plans: Create QR codes to share or collect files in Dropbox!
We’ve heard that many of you use QR codes to easily share files at conferences, promote your businesses, or simply to get work done day to day. But using online QR code generators comes with file size limitations, another upload step, and may not provide the security and privacy you need.
We're introducing a new feature that enables you to generate QR codes directly from Dropbox for seamless file sharing and collection. This not only eliminates the need for external tools but also ensures privacy and security that you already experience with Dropbox.
Here are some ways other Dropbox users will use this feature:
- In construction, putting up QR codes onsite that link to the latest blueprints or safety operating procedures will make this information available to everyone and reduce risk.
- When hosting events or conferences, QR codes provide an easier way to share event schedules and presentation materials live with attendees. If you want to collect photos from the event, sharing a folder via QR code makes it easy for others to upload into one central place.
- As a restaurant owner, QR codes can link directly to digital menus, reducing the need for printed menus, allows for easy updates, and provides a touchless dining experience.
- In educational institutions, QR codes can easily distribute study materials, assignments, lecture notes and supplementary resources to students.
- As a small business owner, QR codes can provide product information, reviews, coupons, and pricing to assist your customers in making informed purchasing decisions.
- As a real estate agent, you can place QR codes on property listings to provide instant access to virtual tours, photos, floor plans, and other property details, enabling your potential buyers to gather information on the spot.
We're currently ramping up this feature to paid plans. If you have a Dropbox paid plan, and don't see it available in your Dropbox but would like to try opt-in, reply to this message with "opt-in" and we'll grant your account access.
We hope this feature makes your lives easier, and we'd love to get feedback on how you're using it!
Cheers,
Amanda - Product Manager
