What’s new - April 2021

We’re back again with some Dropbox updates that are hot off the presses. As always, there are some design updates to make your Dropbox experience even better and some brand new features too 😁

Dropbox Passwords update

You’ve probably seen us talking about Dropbox Passwords here, well now we have even better news. Instead of downloading a full app and then installing a browser extension to use Passwords you will now just install a browser extension and carry on using all your favorite sites without worrying about logging in.

Starred and recent pages

Left hand side menu
In more navigation updates, now when you visit www.dropbox.com, you will land on the All Files browse page instead of Home, so you can keep track of, well, all your files! If you want to head back to the Home page you just need to click ‘Home’. And now you can also visit the new Starred and Recent pages from that left hand side column too.

The “Home” page will still display Starred and Recent files as well, so there’s no change there, there are now just standalone versions of these pages too, so you can view your files exactly how you like.

External sharing report

If you’re the team admin or user management admin of a Dropbox Business team, you can track how data is shared inside and outside your organization. Now you can also generate an external sharing report for shared links and directly shared folders and files. You can generate a full activity report from a specific period by clicking on Create full report on the Insights tab. The External Sharing Report from the Admin Console will be available to all Standard, Advanced and Enterprise teams.

Which of these updates are you most excited about?
