Can't find my business files on desktop app

Can't find my business files on desktop app

I have  a personal Dropbox account as well as a business account. Through the web interface, I can access files from both accounts, but from the Desktop app in Windows File Explorer, I can only access my personal files. How do I get access to my business files thhrogh the Desktop app?

You need to link the accounts.

Hi. I'm having this same problem.

However, my accounts ARE linked. I have access only to my personal folder on my desktop and none of the business files. Do I have to be the account manager on the business account or how does that work?

Hey @CammryL - sorry to hear about this.

Could you clarify what Dropbox plan  you are on your business account?

Do you see the option to connect another account in the app's preferences under the Account tab?

Hi Walter.

It appears I'm on a Business Trial Plan. 10 TB. Will that affect my ability to access my folders from my desktop?

As I stated earlier, my accounts are already linked.

Hi from me too, @CammryL. Did you follow Walterā€™s suggestion to visit your desktop app preferences > Account tab? Do you see the option to log in to your second Dropbox account there?

Yes. Like I said twice in previous replies. My accounts are linked. See here;
 Proof.pngHOWEVER I cannot access the team folder via my desktop ONLY my personal folder. See here;

Proof2.png<< Personal Folder is only available.

proof3.png

<<The folder in question I'm trying to access from desktop but can only access via web browser.

Again. These accounts ARE linked. All these folders are on my BUSINESS ACCOUNT which is LINKED to my personal account. Keep in mind, I'm not the owner of said business account only a team member. Please give me some insight as to why I'm not getting access. It makes altering files and compiling them a pain with too many extra steps.

Hi @CammryL, since you're on a Windows machine, any folders with invalid characters, namely the : symbol along with other, cannot be read by Windows.

This means that those files and folders won't sync to your computer, as Windows cannot read them. You'll need to either rename the folder, or ask them to rename the folder for you to view it on your machine.
