After wasting time, as usual, with Dropbox's assistance, I try to ask here. My problem is relatively simple to explain and consists in the fact that if I use Windows Explorer, navigating in the Dropbox folder is torture since any operation it's very slow (creating a folder, copying a file, etc...) while if I use, for example (but it couldn't be the solution) a file explorer like Explorer++ everything works perfectly. Another thing I verified is that if I navigate to the Dropbox folder from a Windows window that opens for example when I want to open/save a file, everything works without problems. The problem remains confined to windows explorer. Can anybody help me? Thank you
Hey @MatteoG, welcome to our Community!
As a first, I’d like you to send me any ticket number you may after speaking with our support team. It can help understand what you’ve tried with them already.
Regarding the issue you mention; what’s the OS version of your computer, as well as the syncing status and app version of your Dropbox app?
How many files are currently syncing locally to your Dropbox folder? You can right click on your Dropbox folder, and select "Properties" to double check that.
Keep me posted.

Hello Nancy, i?m referring to Ticket n. 22744251.
Regarding your other questions, here some info:
- Dropbox client version 186.4.6207
- Synk status: all files synked
- Windows 10 Home 64 bit
- Dropbox folder: 17.6 GB - 73.362 file - 32.215 folders - local space (my C drive) 2.94 MB
Thanks for the additional info!
If you quit the Dropbox app on your computer, and then open your File Explorer again, does that seem to help at all?
For how long have you been having this issue?

Obviously the problem is related to Dropbox. If I exit the client application and therefore Dropbox is not present in windows explorer, the problem does not exist.
Hey @MatteoG, is it possible that you have close to or more than 300K files in your Dropbox folder?
The performance of the desktop app will decline with that many files in the Dropbox folder, so can you try using selective sync, to remove some folders and see if that helps?

I have already answered to this question:
Dropbox folder: 17.6 GB - 73.362 file - 32.215 folders - local space (my C drive) 2.94 MB
Apologies, Matteo, I missed that.
Does removing some files with selective sync work at all, though?

Instead of continuously asking question, pleas answer to this one: why the problem is only in WINDOWS EXPLORER and not in other file explorer applications (like Explorer++)?
@MatteoG, there could be many reasons why this is happening, so by asking you more questions, we can isolate the issue more.
As the next step, I’d like you to try out these steps on your desktop app, and let me know if they help.
If not, please unlink - relink your Dropbox app next.
