External backup doesn't show on Android App

External backup doesn't show on Android App

Howdy!  I just noticed that while I have access to my PC backup in the Dropbox app on my phone, the backup for my external drive is not shown or accessible in the app. It shows up fine online, and the PC app shows that the drive is completely backup up.

I am using a Moto Edge 2021 with Android 13.  Any thought on how to make the backup accessible as well?

Hi @Unipenguin, it is no longer possible to access your backups from any device, other than the Dropbox Backup page

In this case, you shouldn't be able to access the PC backup from the Dropbox mobile app, so this most likely isn't intentional, and may be corrected to the current version in the future.

Hi @Unipenguin, and thanks for posting this here.

Can you clarify if you were able to see your external drive backup previously on the mobile app?

What’s the Dropbox app version?

Also, if you open your web Dropbox account on the mobile browser, does it show normally there?

Let me know.

Hi Nancy, thanks for the quick response! I believe that I could access the external drive in the app before, but I wouldn't swear to it. The Dropbox app version that I'm using is 364.2.2

When I went into Dropbox through the Chrome browser, I discovered that when I tapped on my PC backup, both drives showed up and were accessible.

I tried to tap on my PC backup in the app and only found the folders that I back up from my PC. No access to the external drive was available.

In that case, I'll shut up and enjoy my bootleg access as long as possible!
