This update will move Dropbox files to ~/Library/CloudStorage; moreover changing the location the Dropbox folder (including external drives) is no longer supported – Is really not possible for Dropbox to work anymore as it did for the last 10 years?
I'm sorry but this update changes & limits the use of this software, and will not match any more my workflow with files and backups. If Dropbox keeps this direction, I will be forced to change to other solution in the coming weeks. Sad.

Hi Walter, Thanks for catching up.

I already read that support article before updating Dropbox, good point that you set a notification before updating Dropbox, and this is how I learnt about this changes. I see you send later today a email to notify the users that there are changes in a little transparent way - not explaining straight forward in the email the changes. This way of operating, does not build much confidence in Dropbox.

For the moment I will have to stop using it, because restricting the location of the Dropbox folder does not match my workflow and backup patterns. I know you are working a lot to modernize your products and services, so I will keep anyway an eye on the future.

Wishing you all a nice day,
Miguel
