Installed dropbox on windows 11 - folder path now changed to C:/Users/name/Dropbox/Dropbox
Looks like a .dropbox.cache folder a level above the normal dropbox folder
This creates a problem when I open the files on the new windows 11 PC - my CAD program can no longer find the files as the path has changed and would have to manually relocate all the file again.
The folder path was C:/Users/name/Dropbox on the previous windows 10 PC.
I'm still using the win10 PC and it keeps files synced between the two.
Is there a way to reinstall dropbox on the windows 11 machine so it doesn't have the double dropbox folder structure?
Hi @richant, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Did you use the default installation options for the app when installing it?
This will help me to assist further!

In preferences is shows dropbox folder location as C:/Users/name/Dropbox/Dropbox
If I try and change it to level above it just says dropbox already installed in this location
Yes I think I did. Cant remember specifying a custom location on install
When you try and move the folder, could you try moving it to C:/Users/name/, as this will then create the Dropbox folder name itself?

Yeah tried that and it just says dropbox already installed in this location
Could you try moving the Dropbox folder to another location entirely, let the move complete entirely, and then see what's left in the C:/Users/name/Dropbox location?
