Reset all files as Online Only

Reset all files as Online Only

Looks like others have had this need and idea, but submitting to reiterate the need..

Would it be possible to create a button in Preferences/sync pane that would make any and all files that are declared synced to be made online-only? That is.. I've set all my Dropbox files to online-only, then, as I do my work I need to make some files Available Offline. I try to set them to online-only as soon as I'm done, but sometimes forget as I need to get on with more work, and I'll never remember at end of day. Such an "online-only reset" button would help me greatly in keeping my local storage organized. I work at a company with a photos folder that likely numbers in the thousands and thousands, I touch many each day, but have not been able to manually reset each to online only after each one I access. Many thanks for your attention!

Welcome to our forum, @Gusphoto, and thanks for your feedback!

I’ve already passed it along to our team.

Besides that, what you can try as a workaround is to right click on your local Dropbox folder directly, and select all of your files to be online-only. This way, you shouldn’t need to change their status individually.

Let me know though, if there’s something else I can help with.

Nancy!!!  That totally worked!

I'm a little embarassed I didn't think of doing that first, and before sending in this in to the suggestion box.  But super grateful and really quite delighted with your solution!

Now that I have set my files to online only, how do I get it to resync so that I'm saving space on the hard drive.  It so full, I can't do updates for microsoft, OS, or anything else.

Hey @statona, did you reboot your computer at all lately or did you relaunch the desktop app since you made those changes?

If you did and this persists, can you send us a screenshot of the app's exact status and version as shown in your system tray?
