Sync with a new PC

Sync with a new PC

Vahab Solgi
Explorer | Level 4

Hi everybody.

I've used dropbox family for eight years with no problem with one PC but, I'm recently using two different PCs, one at my work and another at home. I signed into my dropbox account on both PCs and tried to access my data locally on both of them but when it synced I couldn't see some of my data. The problem is that I do not have access to a large amount of data not on my PCs and not on my page on the Dropbox website.

I got confused and if I can not recover my data I will lose everything I've done in a year. Please help me.

Hey @Vahab Solgi, thanks for reaching out to the Dropbox Community.

If the files in question are also not available when you access your account online, that means that they never actually synced to your account.

Do you have access to the computer that you originally added these files from?

And what's the sync status of the Dropbox app on that computer?

You can hover your mouse over the Dropbox icon in the system tray, to see this info.

Let me know what you find.
