I have the same problem with my Samsung Galaxy 4 all of a sudden not auto syncing with Dropbox. I have the added problem of not understanding most of what you all are talking about. I don't know a thing about Marshmallow, and I can't find any of the settings that Marcus O. suggested. It stopped working in February. My battery power saving is not on. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Dropbox on my phone. It shows in my Dropbox account that this phone is added and synced. It is not a happening. My computer is a MacBook Pro. Any other suggestions?
Thanks Marcus. I did the uninstall and re-install, then went through the settings on the phone and everything starting syncing up like crazy. Had no luck logging into Dropbox or any of the previous suggestions. I'm on Samsung 6 and had the most recent versions of everything loaded as of June 12. thanks!
this was majorly irritating for me too...I went deep into the settings (the little gear icon in the upper right of the screen after you click the menu button, i'd never seen it before today) and turned auto upload off and on again, then turned battery life to upload way down and it started working. It hasnt worked once since I got the S7 or whatever it is I have now. I also only recently realized I had to create a seperate personal account to get my photos uploaded.. so glad its working now!
Hi
Can someone confirm if we need both to:
- Disable Power Saving Mode
- Disable then Re-enable Photo Upload
to get this working on Galaxy S6 Marshmallow ?
All uploads now works in background for you guys ?
Thanks
I did all the above stuff, still syncing not working. I disabled it, removed it, force stopped it and disabled and enabled auto sync. Nothing works... i have s6 with android 6.0. This happened when i went on a holiday trip to Greece. Now syncing isn't working... don't understand why and this is really frustrating..
I have this similar issue when I updated marshmallow..it's just simple solution
1. Go to settings
2. Go to App
3. Select Dropbox
4. Select permission
5. Enable All (camera,contacts,storage)
6. Re-start Dropbox
Done.... marshmallow disable all this option of Dropbox default.... synching works like a charm...
yup pretty much non functional here as well. Sadly this was the thing that got me interested in Dropbox in the first place. It was easy and automatic. Now a dead function so am being forced to find an alternative to share to photos between my devices
Device Nexus 6p
Android 7.0
I've noticed during 7.0 beta and now in final release that dropbox stop auto uploading photos unless I open the app and go to the Photo tab.
I remember reading some tech blogs that dropbox might disable that feature for free users, but I have a Pro account.
Which this means is that I might miss some backups , which I expected dropbox to have done in case my device suffers some accident.
It will also spend a lot of time uploading all missing photos when I open the app.
Hi.
I'm having the same issue. I just bought a new phone with Android 7 and the auto upload doesn't work. I have to open Dropbox to start syncing but as soon as I exit Dropbox or turn the screen off, it stops.
I am still connected to the wifi (as I receive notifications etc.) but Dropbox app stops working.
I hope you can address this issue, thanks!
same here... unless this gets sorted NOW, and I don't care how as long as it doesn't require me to fiddle with settings constantly, I'm cancelling my pro-subscription and moving it all to google drive
