Starred folders missing from quick menu

Hello,

I used to see a "Starred" folder menu option on the left hand side of my screen when using Dropbox in Chrome.  I now only see the following options:

How do I get the Starred folder/file option back here?  It is extremely useful as I am a business user and there are hundreds of files and folders in my Dropbox.

Thank you

Hi @rddcjackie, thanks for messaging the Community!

The feature to view your starred files has changed.

You can now see them on the Files page above the columns on the middle pane.

If you need any further assistance, please let me know!

Where is the shortcut to access my Starred files?

Hey @WayfarerAsh, let's jump right into this!

Are you able to see your Starred content, at the place my colleague Jay mentioned above?

If not, then are you able to see them on the left hand side of your screen, when signing into your account online?

Let me know more!

Why was this moved as now it takes additional steps to click on "starred" when working within several folders in Dropbox. I have to go back to the main menu to see "starred".   Not user friendly at all.

+1 This comment. The 'suggested from your activity' update is one of the worst UX changes I can remember on Dropbox, taking up valuable screen real estate, without the ability to turn it off. The removal of the Starred link from the left column, also a terrible UX change. Adding clicks as this person notes is the opposite of productive. The value of Dropbox continues to go down. When something is setup to simplify navigating through hundreds of folders, taking it away is illogical. For that reason, I'm exploring alternatives for my organization's Marketing workflow where Dropbox simply becomes the last stop for assets once they have no use ––– plain old storage.

Hi Jay and Megan,

I need to echo all of the other users and say that we need the starred link on the sidebar. What UX testing was done before making this change? It is not productive or useful for stared items to not be accessible quickly. It's the opposite of productive.

It now takes 3 times longer to locate our previously "quick-accessed items". I have to click "home" then scroll down past "recent items" to locate my starred items. The items listed in the sidebar now (Signatures Shared File requests Deleted files) are not frequently used items. I don't need to access my deleted files quickly. And the majority of my files are "shared" because this is a business account, so I don't need to know which folders are shared.

I do need to be able to access my starred folders quickly so I can upload or review files to them in seconds not minutes. I spend more time looking for a folder than necessary. Please fix this.

This is a bad update, it was ideal where it was

Adding a request to put the STARRED option back in the navigation pane.

It was FAR more useful and easier to find where it was originally. Why the change?!
