At the moment, only annual subscriptions will receive the an email receipt after each payment. Please note, we have passed your request to the Billing team, we regularly re-review ideas and will update you if anything changes.
Sorry for the necro - but I can't find where to attach a billing email address for receipting as per the request above.
We obviously can't go giving our accounts department full admin access to take control of other user's dropboxes and such just to download their receipts lol
No. We get our annual bill emailed from Dropbox as required by law. Just not for the "new user" charges each week or so. We can't exactly just say to investors "oh here's a bill for 60% of the charges we racketed against online storage". I appreciate your community input but you don't understand that for level 3 PCI compliance we can't just go giving billing staff super-admin rights to download receipts willy-nilly as that would also give them root-access to take control of any dropbox in the company! There is most certainly a system there as they have already provided their reverse-lookup facility for our billing staff, but obviously a generic web-link still does not constitute delivery or a bill.
Chris H: Dropbox clearly does not care about enterprise customers or anyone with compliance requirements and this is just one of several key features they refuse to budge on.
How bazaar! I'm sure the email system is there; because that's a common billing requirement - but I assume it's just "hidden" from most customers so Dropbox can make changes if required. I could imagine someone in management saying: "but what if we deliver the wrong bill to a customer? once it's delivered - it's final... at least if WE hold it, we can 'make it disappear' and everybody is safe" ... or someone in marketing "well if we change our logo or header, any bills that are downloaded are automatically updated with the latest changes!" . You would find that 99% of their staff can see the gaping legal hole here - but unfortunately, it's sometimes too easy for a single person with "a new idea" to misunderstand the greater gravity of that decision they just made.
Could not agree more with mr Niels. Or, if there was special automatically created folder in dropbox with all the invoices in there.
It is pain to login every month just to download the invoice, especially that sometimes when I forget to do this, my accountant have to call me. That is very uncomfortable.
