Folder re-naming

Folder re-naming

User Story

I was shared a folder with a very generic name by an external party. This folder name is non-intuitive and also will potentially conflict with existing folders and / or new folders in the future.

I would like a way to rename or add an alias to these shared folders both locally and globally on my account however without changing the name across all other users.

Hi @MakeItBetter

Dropbox already does this 🙂

Any user in a Shared Folder can rename or move the folder without it impacting other users - you just cannot move in to an already shared folder.

Note that when you do this Dropbox will pop up lots of messages saying 'access to X lost, xxx deleted, xxx restored etc.' just ignore these and let it finish and all will be good 🙂
