Does deleting an account enable the username to be "reused" on an existing dropbox account?

Does deleting an account enable the username to be "reused" on an existing dropbox account?

I have two accounts. Both accounts currently have no data in them.

The original one has 8.75GB of storage but uses a hotmail email as the username.

The secondary account has 2GB of storage which uses an iCloud email as the username.

I wish to change my username login to the iCloud one (and thus keep the 8.75GB of storage), however, I cannot do that as the iCloud "email username already exists". (which is the 2GB account).

If I delete the 2GB account, can I then use the iCloud email address to change the login username from hotmail to the iCloud one?

And thus have just one Dropbox account, with 8.75GB of storage, which uses my iCloud.com email as the username to log in?

🙂

Hi @MazzaGazza

Yes you can do that 🙂

Although it may take a few days to release the email depending upon account type 🙂

Another option is to use a third email to swap in to the account with the iCloud one and then you can use it immediately to switch Hotmail
