I received emails from Dropbox informing me that I had exceeded the 2 GB limit. I went into dropbox and started deleting files and suddenly realised that I had received an email from dropbox congratulating me on my upgrade to 2 TB of data. Because my account is linked through Apple the payment is automatically deducted and according to dropbox cannot be refunded. How is it possible for the system to upgrade new without appropriate warnings when I am remediating and the opportunity to refuse?
It isnt. Dropbox cannot upgrade you without confirmation that you did it - either via PIN code or biometrics (e.g. finger print or face ID) same as any other purchase.
Apple are the ones who control payments via Apple Pay so any issues with payments need to go to them. Dropbox has no control over Apple billing at all.
