Dear community,
I would like to get acess to my dropbox account wich is linked to an old email adresse. I can´t acess the email adresse anymore, so I cannot enter the 6 number pin, which is send to that email adresse.
Any suggestion on how to get to the data.....at least once to save it?
Thanks, Tes_127
The only way to do so is to get access to the email again - without that OR a device already connected its not possible.

I can't figure it out how it's not possibile to recover my account. Fact is the old email linked to my accout, was the old mail from out former web hosting we used for work. Since we changed provider and we registered a new web domain, it's just impossible to access to the email as it's no longer exist.
It's not a matter "contact your ESP to get help" I'm not talking about GMAIL or Yahoo or whatever...It's a matter the email address simple doesn't exist anymore as it was a web domain email box...I assume my account and all the files shared in it are gone?

It is possible, but only when you can access the email address associated with your account. Your email address is the only verification that Dropbox will accept when trying to recover an account. Even if it were a paid account, the only thing they will do is cancel the subscription for the account; they won't provide access to it.

The account would continue to exist until it was idle for a year, at which time Dropbox would start the process of deleting the account and its content. If you have shared files in the account, then other members of those shares would have a copy of the files, but any files that weren't shared would be lost.
Thnx for the reply...So I've bought the old domain again and recreated the same exact email as you can see from the images...I've recovered the email linked with the account by another work mate who still can access the sharing files...so as I said, I've bought the same domain again and created the email box...tried to recover the password but after 30 min I still don't get any email from dropbox to get a new password..where am i wrong???
Hey @MassimoZecchinelli, let's see how I can help!
Have you checked the spam folder of your email account? If I were you, I'd add no-reply@dropbox.com to my contacts or address book and repeat the steps to reset my password.
Can you give it a go?
Keep me posted!

Hey @Alex-Cooper, welcome to our Community!
Do you remember the password of the Dropbox account? If so, then you could use the email address, and password and access the account.
If you want to reset the password, I suggest that you contact your email provider, and ask them for help, in order to recover said email address.
Let me know more!

Hello,
i m facing the same issue. My educational email was attached to Dropbox. I want to recover that email. Kindly suggest me any solution
Without access to the email there is no way to get in if you dont know the password. So you could try asking the educational establishment to reset it up?

@Megan Hi there, tried that too but no luck...I've also tried to send a mail to that mailbox to be sure it was working and the emails from my personal GMAIL account are delivered without problems. There's must some trobles with the account itself...
