Not received verification code for 2FA on unverified device - secondary number does work

I have 2FA set up. The device is not saved as a recognized device. When I log in, a code is allegedly sent to my phone but I'm not getting it. I don't have this issue with other services sending me codes. It does work with my backup phone number. I'm aware of alternative ways to log in but this should work and it doesn't. Any chance there's an issue with sending to Canadian numbers or specific providers? I checked and this is the correct number.

Hi @shwartz, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

We're not experiencing any issues with Canadian numbers or providers at this time.

Could you clarify what you mean by an 'unrecognized device'?

This will help me to assist further!

I'll write my solution again, just in case, because I replied here and marked my answer as the solution but it's not showing up to me anymore (when trying private mode it also doesn't show up and it says "0 Accepted Solutions").

I wanted to verify that I didn't block SMS messages from Dropbox and saw that my Messages by Google app marked it as spam. Maybe the phrasing of the message should be reconsidered (I suspect the exclamation mark at the end of "Happy Dropboxing!").

Hi @shwartz, sorry to jump in here.

When trying to log in to your Dropbox account via 2FA, do you receive any errors at all stating that the code couldn’t be sent to your device? Or nothing at all seems to happen?
