Space on dropbox

I have a recent email saying there's no more space on my dropbox. There is nothing in there, can anyone tell me how I can close my dropbox and stop getting the annoying emails?

It's possible you might have some storage taken up by a shared folder, or a backup.

If you're interested in deleting your account, while will wipe all your files irretrievably, you can do so with these steps.
