Moving local "empty" files to nextcloud

Moving local "empty" files to nextcloud

Hi there, I have my dropbox installed in a way that there are just "emtpy" files on my computer and the real MB's are in the cloud, once I open them on my computer with Finder (Mac) I get the real MB's on my computer. Now I want to move a part of the files on Dropbox to another cloud solution. I do this in Finder because this is easy: just drag and drop it in Finder. But when I do this from the Dropbox map to het Nextcloud map, the files remain empty on the Nextcloud map, but I also want to move the 'real' mb's from the dropbox cloud to the nextcloud map. How can I do that?

Hope I explained the problem clearly enough?

Hi @Doris7

The only way to do this is to download the files locally to your computer first by making them 'Available offline' and then transferring to the other system.

I did this and it worked but not for all files. I can't get several files offline? I choose 'make it available offline' but this didn't work, I keep on seeing the blue icon instead of the green icon. In Finder it says it has 0 bytes (which is correct because it is in the dropbox cloud), but even clicking on it doesn't download it. I checked it online and I can open it in the browser, so whats wrong with these files?

Hey @Doris7, perhaps the files are taking a while to sync.

If you hover over the Dropbox icon in your menu bar, what's the sync status of the app?
