I've also tried all the suggestions in this discussion: https://www.dropboxforum.com/t5/Create-upload-and-share/Desktop-app-is-stuck-at-indexing-for-days/td... and have uninstalled and re-installed the app.
I'm running version 188.4.6302 on Sonoma 14.1.2, MacBook Pro
Yesterday the message was stuck on indexing, no number. Later last night and tonight it says indexing 1480 files, without any change in 24 hours.
Are you sure that you're hovering over the Dropbox icon in your menu bar, by the WiFi icon at the top of your screen, @bb-black?
Would you mind sending us a screenshot of that as well?

It seems to be syncing well but I've lost many files and folders from my dropbox on my laptop.
I don't see any syncing icons on your files in your screenshot @bb-black
When you say it's syncing well, could you clarify if it's 'up to date' or still syncing in your menu bar?

Yes, there are green checks on all of the folders & docs in dropbox.
Could you send us a screenshot too so that we can have a visual @bb-black?
If you could include the app's exact status as well, I'd appreciate it.

So the app has finished syncing and is fully up to date now @bb-black
Could you have a look at your deleted files page, the events page and the backups page and let us know if you can see any signs of your missing files and folders there?
If not, you should be looking for them locally on your device, be it in their original locations or the recycle bin.

I have found many on the deleted files and have recovered them. I haven't had time to look at whether this includes all that I need. That will take some time, but I will continue to review.
