Organize and share Christmas photos with Dropbox
Christmas is definitely a time of year that I find myself taking more pictures than normal. Meeting up with family and friends and wanting to capture special moments means that I have my camera on more than I don’t. If you’re anything like me, you’ll want to be able to share all of these photos with those closest to you. Social media can be a good way to share photos, but there are definitely times when we might want to keep these photos within a private group of people, especially when family are involved, Dropbox makes it easy to share with exactly who you want. To start with, I’ll always make sure that my camera uploads are turned on. You’ve probably heard me talking about this a few times before, but I’ll stand by my words again because I love this feature, it saves me time, space on my phone and makes sure I never lose any photos, so it’s a no brainer for me. If you don’t know how to turn on Camera uploads you can find all the information you need right here. Now that all my photos will be automatically added to my Dropbox account, I’ll figure out a way to organize all of the photos I take at Christmas into folders. Generally speaking, I’ll be meeting up with a lot of different groups of people on different days, so I’ll only want to share photos with the people that are in them, so I’ll start by making a Christmas folder, then inside that I’ll make folders for Christas Eve, Christmas Day, Stephen’s Day, New Years Eve and any other days I might be out and about. Then, dependent on what I’m doing, I might make different folders within these daily folders, for example I might do Christmas morning swim and Christmas Dinner, or Stephen’s Day lunch and Stephen’s Day drinks. Once I’ve got my folders created and all my photos put in the right place, it makes it really easy to share with all of the other people who I was with. To do this, all I need to do is create a view-only shared link to the folder I want to share, and share it with everyone who I was with when I took those photos, or anyone else I want to see them. This link will allow anyone with access to it to view and download the photos inside that folder. If you’re not sure how to create shared links, you can find out everything you need to know here. Now, if your friends and family are anything like mine, you’ll know there are 2 types of people, those who take photos and those don’t. When I want to add photos that friends or family took to my collection, I use file request. This allows them to simply add their photos, which then go directly to my Dropbox account, allowing me to easily add them to the folder they belong in. How can I force the mobile app to upload photos on Android?

I am experiencing the same issue as the original poster. I take a photo on my phone, and it does not immediately sync to Dropbox. I am on wifi on my phone, and I don't have any settings limiting upload to certain battery percentages. On my computer it says "Your files are up to date." I can open the app on my phone, navigate to the Camera Uploads folder and pull down to "force a refresh" but it does nothing. Going to the Photos tab at the bottom is even more useless, because you can't pull to refresh. I have to wait hours or days for it to decide to sync, which is frustrating when I want the photo on my computer immediately. I don't have any other apps that sync files or photos from my phone. When I go into the camera settings in the Dropbox app, I can even see the most recent photo (the one that won't sync) in the preview, it just does not show up in my Dropbox!
How do I get all my Camera Upload pictures to sync locally automatically?

New files from camera uploads not showing in the Photos tab in iOS 26 (17promax)
Device iPhone 17 pro max Operating System/Browser (if using the web) iOS 26 Dropbox App Version (if using the app) 444.2.2 Question or Issue Moving to a new iPhone and installed dropbox app. However, camera uploads is very buggy. It will upload the photos/videos, but the display will not show any new photos added. New items can be found in camera upload folder, but not in the "Photos" tab on the app as it will not fresh that at all. Tried uninstalling the app and reinstalling and sometimes get the error message that the camera uploads folder doesn't exist and will be created on next upload. But the folder is there and new images are added.
How do I stop Dropbox from uploading every single picture on my PC?
I use Dropbox on my computer to backup my work files which include my 3D renders that consist in a png sequence (one image per frame at 30 or 60fps), so I have thousands of png images related to renders but dropbox automatically adds them to the camera uploads in my phone app which is extremely annoying because I need to scroll down thousands of images to see my actual photos... if I delete them it deletes my render backup as well, it does the same thing for textures, which makes my photo roll unusable.
How can I stop my desktop photos and videos from uploading to my Dropbox account?
Hi guys, I am trying to stop Dropbox Desktop from uploading my photos and videos from my desktop. When I go into Preferences > Backups > Camera Uploads, the only two option I get are "upload photos only" or "upload photos and videos". I do not want to upload any photos or videos. There is no option to turn this off. Am i missing something? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Chris
It takes a while for my Android to upload my camera roll
So it looks like dropbox doesn't immediately upload my camera roll. It usually takes several hours but sometimes it never seems to happen. I read the help guides about battery optimization for Android but the settings are way different on my end. I just don't know what I'm doing wrong.The Dropbox desktop app no longer automatically syncs new photos from my phone
