Camera uploads
178 TopicsWhy have new Camera Upload files changed to the format "Photo abc"?
At some point over the last few months, Dropbox randomly stopped uploading my photos from my iPhone 13 (iOS17 and now 18). After lots of poor app behaviour, I eventually managed to re-enable it, having manually been uploading files for quite some time. As soon as I pointed it back at the right folder, it started uploading... but with the word "Photo" in front of the filename!! So thanks to this stupidity, I now have hundreds of duplicate photos, called things like "2024-09-18 19.38.54.jpg" and "Photo 18-09-24, 19 38 54.jpg". So not only has it completely renamed it, it's ruined all possibilities to sort by title. As a final slap in the face, it's processed the images to half their size and reduced the quality! So, Dropbox... how do I disable this ridiculous "feature" that some imbecile decided would be good to suddenly implement?Solved162KViews0likes13CommentsChanging the location of Camera upload folder

I am on the latest iOS and Dropbox for my iPhone 13. Dropbox 324.2 and iOS 16.4.1 I noticed that it was going forth between 5 and 4 photos left. There is plenty of room in dropbox. Nothing has been uploaded. I followed the instructions mentioned here https://www.dropboxforum.com/t5/Storage-Space/Photo-backup-on-iPhone-isn-t-working/td-p/515471 for clearing the cache and rebooting. Still have the same issue and it won't give it up. Problem also exists backing up via cellular. Problem also persists after full delete and reinstallation of Dropbox on iPhone.Solved28KViews10likes42CommentsVideos aren't uploading automatically from my iPhone?

Since April 10, I've been spending a LOT of time trying to upload photos and videos from my iPhone 7 [iOS 11.3 (15E216)] to my Mac [macOS High Sierra (Version 10.14.4)]. It used to do that no problem, but no more. Sometimes I get only an error message, while other times, I get a message that makes me hopeful -- "Finding photos / Thus could take a while..." But it is followed up by another error message. I've tried everything I can think of, including disabling then enabling imports, installing the newest version, etc. -- but I still get nothing but error messages. The two most common are: 1. "Camera upload error / Failed to import 210 of 210 photos." 2. "210 photos or videos from 2018.Phone.7 couldn't be imported. 0 photos and videos were imported." Please help. Thank you!Solved22KViews0likes54CommentsAutomatically upload iPhone photos to Dropbox

Hello, I have been using Dropbox automatic Camera Upload to backup photos that I take on my iPhone. I would also like to use Apple iCloud Photos to backup and syncronize my photos across multiple Apple devices. Once you take a photo with the iPhone the iCloud Photos functionality uploads the original photo and associated resolution to Apple iCloud. Once that upload of the original is complete, Apple stores a lower resolution version of the photo on the local iPhone in order to save space. I want to have the original (full resolution) version stored in Dropbox and not the lower resolution version. Can anyone help me understand whether Dropbox will store the original or the lower resolution photo file. Thanks in advance for any assistance. Regards GrantSolved18KViews1like5Comments
